This is a match programme from the Llanelli v Swansea rugby fixture played at Stradey Park, Llanelli on Saturday 19th March 1949. The match was won by Swansea by 6 - 9. Swansea's forward play was he deciding factor, but they were fortunate to come away with a win after a late surge by Llanelli, whose backs were superior on the day. Scarlets outside-half Elfryn Matthews' try gave them a half-time lead. But after the interval, a penalty kick by Whites outside-half Len Davies and two impressive long-range drop-goals by full-back Ken Williams put Swansea back in the driving seat, only for a late try by hard-working back row Peter Stone to inspire a late revival by the home side. But Swansea hung on for a win by three points.
