1901 Barbarians Team v Swansea
The team that played the first Barbarians fixture against Swansea on Easter Sunday, 9th April 1901 at St Helens. Swansea won 11 - 0.

2nd Row(L to R): Jock Hartley, Reginald Forrest, Reg Skrimshire (captain), Tufton Beamish, Herbert Dudgeon, James Franks.
Front Row(L to R): S. G. Wood, Arthur Brettargh, Harry Corley, A. Brown, T. Drysdale.
This was Swansea's first EVER match v the Barbarians, who fielded 8 internationals. (Fraser [E] & Corley [I] would be capped the following year). The Baa Baas did not defeat a Swansea team until 1923! Dickie Owen, who had carried an injury since the international v Ireland made a reappearance in this match but was injured and did not complete the match. With George Davies still absent, the back line was rearranged, Irish international Albert Freear making his club debut to help out. This was the final HOME match of 1900-01. Swansea had not lost AT ST HELEN'S since 11th Feb. 1899 (v Newport) - 36 home games undefeated.
