This jersey from the 2003-04 season was presented to the archive by long time Ospreys and Swansea supporters Keith Davies. This was the first season of the newly formed Neath-Swansea Ospreys as they were then known; formed from a combination of players from the Neath and Swansea clubs. Scott Gibbs was the inaugural captain and led the side until his retirement in January 2004, when Barry Williams took the captain's armband. It was a mixed season for the newly formed region and they finished in 5th position in the Celtic League with 55 points, having won 11 and lost 10 fixtures with one drawn match. Full-back Gavin Henson was the season's top points scorer with 265 pts. The Heineken Cup did not provide much comfort as only one match was won. But the side was a settled one by season's end and the following campaign justified the hopes of the players and management.
