Blazer badge, red velvet shield with gold metal braid around edges. Blue velvet stylised bat emblems edged in gold metal. Red scroll beneath with gold metal braiding. Gold metal text within: "BATS RFC". Dimensions: w3" x h3 3/4" (w8cm x h9cm).

This is a blazer badge from the Bay Area Touring Side (B.A.T.S.) of California. They toured extensively in Europe and also played a match against Swansea RFC on Swansea's West Coast tour of May 1981. It was played in San Francisco, Swansea emerging winners by 54 - 6. this was one of four matches on the tour.
