Wood plaque with inset ceramic tile. OMBAC badge in shield in centre (O.M.B.A.C is the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club). Brass plaque beneath engraved: "OMBAC vs Swansea RFC May 16 1981 San Diego, CA." Dimensions: h10" x w10" (h25cm x w25cm).

The Swansea RFC tour to California in May 1981 saw them stay at San Francisco, Huntingdon Beach and San Diego. They played against a Newport Beach & Irvine Coast XV (see: PQ110) near Huntingdon, then O.M.B.A.C at San Diego. Swansea won the match by 22 - 0. The Swansea scores came from tries by Barry Clegg, Huw Rees and Alan Meredith with Mark Wyatt adding two conversions and two penalties. This was the second of four matches on the USA west coast tour in May 1891. Swansea also played the B.A.T.S. (Bay Area Touring Side) in San Francisco (won 54 - 6), Newport Beach & Irvine Coast Combined XV in Los Angeles (won 66 - 7) and South California in Los Angeles (won 45 - 0).
