1977-78 season: Played: 39, Won: 32, Lost: 6, Drawn: 1. Points for: 1069, Against: 321.
This season the Swansea Athletic played three sides from abroad: The first encounter was at St Helen's against the touring Hermance team from Switzerland. Swansea RFC had played the Swiss on their own ground in 1974 and the return visit included this game v the Athletic. Hermance were defeated by 78 - 3. Toward the end of the season Swansea Athletic toured to Valencia in Spain and played two matches. The first was against a Valencia District XV who were defeated by 44 - 15 on 6th April 1978. The second match of the tour was against the Valencia University side who were defeated by 96 -3 on 13th April.
