Info
This rare early Dewar Shield medal was brought to the St Helen's Archive to be copied and returned by Steve Jenkins, whose father Ernest James Jenkins played in the Swansea Schools team that won the Dewar Shield for the first time in 1937-38 (see: PH273). The Dewar Shield, which competition still runs today, is the oldest schools rugby competition in the world. You can find out more about the 1937-38 win by searching for image PH273.
