This is a set of action photographs taken during the Swansea versus South Africa match at St Helen's on Saturday 10th October 1931. It is a collage of eight, mounted and framed, located in the main bar at St Helen's. South Africa won a close match by 10 points to 3. Claude Davey scored Swansea's try and the Springbok points were scored by Jacob Van der Vesthuizen (try) and Gerry Brand (try and 2 conversions). The collage is titled "South Africa v Swansea at Swansea October 10th 1931 Swansea 3pts South Africa 10pts". Each image in the collage has a caption as follows: (a): "E. Long kicks the ball clear when tackled"; (b): "Bryn Evans brought down after getting the ball from aloose scrum"; (c): "Springboks pass the ball from a line-out"; (d): Springboks get the ball from a line-out"; (e): "Manley effects a low tackle"; (f): "A Springbok in action.
