Wood Plaque with a scroll top and bottom. Metal shield at top with WRU badge in centre and engraved with: "Wales v England Pontypool Park 5th April 1987. Metal plaque at bottom engraved: "Congratulations Helen on gaining your first International Cap from The Ladies Section Swansea Uplands RFC." Dimensions: h9 1/4" x w6 3/4" (h23.5cm x w7.4cm).

This plaque was presented to Helen Carey by the Ladies Section at Swansea Uplands RFC, the team she played for, as a congratulations for representing Wales in her first ever international match. It was also the first Women's International ever played by Wales. The match was played in Pontypool Park against England with England winning 22-4. The Welsh side was captained by Liza Burgess and players came from both Swansea and Loughborough Universities as well as prominent Welsh teams like Magor, Pontypool and Swansea Uplands.
