This is the Wales Cap presented to flanker Helen Carey after her appearance in Wales Women’s first ever full international fixture on 5th April 1987. The match was against England and was played at Pontypool Park. England won the match by 22-4 but the fixture was of historic significance for Women’s rugby in Wales. Helen Carey was playing her rugby at the Swansea Uplands club at this time and played more than 20 times for Wales between 1987 and 1994, an international career that included playing in two Rugby World Cups.
