This jersey was worn by Pedrie Wannenburg in the South Africa v. Wales game of June 2004, in Pretoria. Wales were touring both Argentina and South Africa, with the final game of the tour ending in a result of 53 - 18 to South Africa. Before the match Nelson Mandela met and was introduced to the whole Welsh squad by captain Colin Charvis. Charvis was the first black person to captain Wales, noted by Mandela who invited Charvis to meet. This jersey was kindly presented to the St Helens Archive by Charvis in February 2024.
