Info

Jack Bassett played on the wing rugby for Christ College Brecon, Swansea Uplands, Swansea United (ie: Swansea RFC 2nd XV) and Swansea 1st XV from 1930 to 1934. He also turned out for Neath 1st XV in the latter part of 1934-35. A promising athlete, Jack joined the R.A.F. in 1938 and sadly was killed along with the rest of his crew in a training accident when flying a Wellington Bomber on 10 September 1941. This memento of his life and others on this website, were donated to the collection by his son David Bassett.
