This match at Rodney Parade, Newport was won 6-3 by Newport. It was overseen by members of the Welsh Union, who had arranged to select the side for the second trial game after the match ended. The match, which was dominated by forward play, marked the debut of Swansea wing D J 'Jack' Bassett, though he had little opportunity to shine. This programme was donated to the collection by his son D T Bassett.
