Description

Welsh slate rugby ball shaped plaque with white lettering: "Clwb Rygbi Dinbych" above and "Abertawe 14-8-04" beneath the Denbigh RFC badge. Leather strap fixed through holes at either end. Dimensions: w10 1/4" x h6 1/2" (w26cm x h16.2cm).

This commemorative plaque was presented to Swansea RFC at a pre-season fixture against Denbigh RFC. The fixture was arranged to mark the north Wales club officially opening its new clubhouse. Swansea, coached by Tony Clement and Keith Colclough won the one sided encounter by 119 - 7. Denbigh captain scored their only try. The Swansea side included a host of Wales U21 players and future senior Welsh cap Richie Rees.
