Stained wood commemorative plaque with Canadian Maple Leaf emblem in red fixed to centre and "Canadian Rugby Union" in black on gold scroll beneath. The left edge of scroll is missing. Engraved metal plate beneath scroll with "Wales Tour 1971". Dimensions: w5 3/4" x h8 1/2" (w15cm x h21.5cm)

This plaque was presented to the Swansea club in recognition of St Helen's playing host to the Wales 'B' v Canada match on 25th September 1971. Swansea's Jeff Davies (wing) and Mel James (prop) were in the Wales 'B' team. The touring Canadians also played a Monmouthshire U25's side at Rodney Parade, Newport (18th September), Western Counties of Wales side at Stradey Park, Llanelli (21st September) and a Wales XV (uncapped) at Cardiff Arms Park (2nd October), which the Canadians lost 56 - 10.
