Info

The Hartlepool Old Boys RFC team that played Swansea at St Helen's on 14th April 1906. The match was won by Swansea by 14 - 0. Front row 2nd from left if Frank (Patsy) Boylen (Hartlepool Rovers) who went on to play for England in the 1908 Internationals and had a long career with the NRU. Middle of the 2nd row with the ball is Old Boys Captain Harry Havelock, who later played for England again in 1908. Finally, in the back row 4th from left if Jim Ainslie,(Hartlepool Rovers). His grandson Jim loaned the photo for copying.

The HOB team photographed here played three matches on this tour: against Gloucester (lost 37 - 0), Swansea (lost 14 - 0) and Llanelli (lost 6-3).
