A series of reproductions taken from photographs of the England v Wales rugby international played at Welford Road Ground, Leicester on 9th January 1904. the match was drawn 14-14. Of particular interest is the first illustration, which shows the England team entering the pitch from the pavilion gates. These gates are the same gates the New Zealand team emanate from in the movie footage of the Glamorgan County v All Blacks match of December 1905 at St Helen's, Swansea (see Video and Aural section on this website). This confirms that two sections of movie footage from different matches were spliced together in that movie, presumably because footage of the New Zealand team entering the St Helen's pitch were not captured.
