David Richards' second season as captain saw a resurgent Swansea claim both the Sunday Telegraph Welsh and Anglo-Welsh Merit Table trophies. They were Whitbread Merit Table Champions, Unofficial Western Mail Champions, Daily Mail Anglo-Welsh Champions and Sunday Telegraph 'Team of the Season' again. Forty out of forty seven matches were won, with just seven losses. Swansea also won the Snellings Sevens tournament for the first time.
