This commemorative plaque was presented to Swansea RFC by the South African touring team on 5th November 1994 when the two teams played at St Helen's. The South Africans won the match 78 -7 and went on to win the 1995 Rugby World Cup. It was the first time the South African rugby team had toured since the dismantling of the apartheid system and the first time they had played at Swansea since 1969.
