This carved and stained oak shield was presented to Swansea RFC to commemorate their historic victory over New Zealand at St Helens on 28th September 1935. This was the All Blacks' first EVER defeat to a club side, and meant that Swansea RFC became the first club to have beaten Australia (1908), South Africa (1912) and New Zealand. The name of the artist who carved and presented this plaque to the club is not known.
