This season Swansea RFC were: Winners of the Western Mail Unofficial Championship, Winners of the Whitbread Merit Table, Winners of the Daily Mail Anglo-Welsh Championship, Sunday Telegraph Team of the Season. They also won the Snellings Sevens tournament for the first time and were finalists in the WRU Cup. Swansea beat the touring New Zealand Maoris 15 - 12 at St Helen's on 30th October 1982.
