A match report on the final of the South Wales Challenge Cup (SWCC) from the South Wales Daily News from Monday 8th March 1880 (p4). Swansea played St David's College Lampeter at Ystrad, near Carmarthen on Saturday 6th March, winning by two tries to nil. The final result was Swansea 14 points, Lampeter College 1 point. this was under the SWCC scoring rules of 1880, whereby any goal was 10 points, a try 5 points and minors 1 point each.
