Info
This is the Swansea cap of T C (Thomas Clay) Henry, who was a forward with the 1st and 2nd XV from 1903-4 to 1905-06. His 3 appearances for the ‘Invincible’ 1st XV included the match where Swansea were the first opponents at the new Stradey Park ground on 15th October 1904 and Llanelli were beaten 11-0. Henry played in place of Welsh cap Fred Scrine. He also played in 1st XV wins over the District League XV and Bridgend. A coal trimmer by occupation, Tom Henry was a powerfully built man and enjoyed much success in the 2nd XV under captains Peter Lockman and Ernie Morgans, losing just 5 matches of 21 played.
This cap was generously donated to the collection by Giles Henry, great grandson of Tom Henry, on behalf of the Henry family.
