Abstract
This trophy was presented each to each of the members of the Welsh team for the unique achievement of winning five international matches in a season (1908-09) for the first time. Wales beat Australia (9 - 6), England (8 - 0), Scotland (5 - 3), France (47 - 5) and Ireland (18 - 5). France had been played for the first time by Wales and Australia made their first ever tour to Britain this season, raising the international schedule to five matches. The record added to the previous season's clean sweep of 'Home' internationals meant that Wales had won their last 10 consecutive international matches. This trophy was presented to Swansea & Wales forward George Hayward (5 caps 1908-09). It was gifted to Swansea RFC by the family of George Hayward.
