Abstract

The Swansea RFC team that won the Snellings Sevens Tourament in August 1982 at Cardiff Arms Park. They beat Ebbw Vale 44 - 6 in the final and Swansea's Jeff Herdman won the Everson Award for the 'Man of the Tournamet'. This was the first occasion that Swansea had won the trophy. They went on to win it again in 1989 and the final year of the competition in 1995. The tournament had been first played in 1954 at Rodney parade, Newport and the trophy was presented by Newport Athletic Club secretary Reg Snelling.
