The British Isles team in Cape Town, on the 1962 tour of South Africa. P 25, W: 16, D: 4, L: 5. The Lions tour also encompassed matches in Rhodesia (now called Zimbabwe), South West Africa (now called Namibia) and East Africa (now called Kenya). All these matches were won. All the non Test matches in South Africa were won except against Northern Transvaal and Eastern Transvaal. The British Isles team were captained by Scotland wing and captain Arthur Smith. Of the four Test matches three were lost and the first one drawn. Nine Welsh players were on the tour including Swansea's Dewi Bebb, who would also tour with the 1966 Lions. Bebb played in two of the Test matches in 1962.
