Abstract
This Committee pass for the Wales v England international was worn by former Swansea captain Evan Sloane Richards. The match was played at Cardiff Arms Park on 7th January 1893 and Wales won a dramatic encounter right at the end when Swansea's Billy Bancroft drop-kicked a goal to seal a 12 - 11 win. This was just the second time Wales had defeated England. They went on to win their first Triple Crown. Evan Richards had played for Swansea from 1881 to 1887, captaining them for two seasons and winning two Welsh caps (1885 & 1887). He went on to represent the Rhondda as a committee man on the Welsh rugby board.
