Abstract

This jersey was worn by Swansea and Wales forward John Faull on 6th April 1957 when Wales played an international XV at Cardiff Arms Park in a match arranged to help raise funds for the 6th British Empire & Commonwealth Games that were to be held in Cardiff in 1958. It would be the largest sporting event ever held in Wales at the time and many events were held in order to raise the funds necessary for hosting the Empire games. Faull was the only Swansea player in the Welsh line-up, which ws captained by Neath's J R G Stephens.
