In a link to the distant past, the trophy in the photograph is in fact the old South Wales Challenge Cup(SWCC) trophy, originating from 1878. it was the oldest rugby trophy for a club competition in Britain and was reutilised for the WRU 7's competition. The old SWCC was won by Swansea in 1880 and again in 1887.
