This is a British Army Rugby union jersey that belonged to Swansea back row John Leleu. John played 118 matches for Swansea between 1953 and 1963, scoring 15 tries. He captained the "All Whites” in 1960-61 and played for Swansea against South Africa at St Helens on 26th November 1960 (lost 3 - 19). John also played for London Welsh who he captained (1958-59) and Llanelli (captain 1965-66 & 1966-67) a well as Bristol Grammar School, Mumbles, Bishop Gore School, Middlesex and the British Army. Leleu won 4 Welsh caps, two in 1959 (England & Scotland) as a London Welsh player, and two in 1960 (France & South Africa) as a Swansea player. Jersey presented by John leleu.
