Abstract
Touch judge's flag from the Swansea v Ranji Walker's Invitational XV at St Helen's in 1951. A match to raise funds for the Festival of Britain. Wing Commander Sydney George "Ranji" Walker in conjunction with Swansea RFC Hon. Secretary Cliff Prosser, hatched a plan to tour with an invitational team comprising many of the leading players of the day, including internationals. but Walker's idea was to especially give preference to developing players and many who graced his teams went on to international honours with England, France, Ireland, Scotland or Wales. the touring sides were a regular sight at clubs in the UK and in Ireland for 10 years from 1949 to 1959.
