Abstract

Original ball used in the Wales v New Zealand game on December 16th 1905 at Cardiff Arms Park, the ball is brown leather with water damage at the base, small plaque attached to the ball explaining its origin:Swansea’s Will Joseph (forward) and Dickie Owen (scrum-half) played in the Welsh fifteen who were the only side to beat New Zealand on the tour. It was a pre-planned reverse pass from Owen that set up the only score of the match. The faded autographs are of the players from both teams.Presented by the family of Ernest Joseph, May 1972.
