Abstract

The Swansea RFC first fifteen in the 1951-52 Season- P:37, W:18, , D:6, L:13. Captained by Len Blyth. On December 15th Swansea played South Africa at St Helen's losing by 11 - 3. Dil Johnson scored Swansea's try. Swansea skipper Len Blyth had been selected for his first Welsh cap against the touring South Africans the following week (22nd), but decided he couldn't miss the Swansea/Springbok match as would normally have been expected of a selected player. Swansea's Billy "Stoker" Williams joined Blyth in the Welsh pack. South Africa won 6 - 3, Wales doing well to hold a talented Springbok side led by the outstanding Hennie Muller.
