Abstract
This is the England No12 jersey of Paul Dodge (Leicester) who played inside centre in the 9 - 8 win at Twickenham over Wales on 16th February 1980. He exchanged jerseys with Dai Richards who played at 13 for Wales in a match where Llanelli's Paul Ringer was sent off for fighting. Wales went 8 - 6 up with tries by Jeff Squire and Elgin Rees, but Leicester's Dusty Hare kicked 3 penalties to clinch the match. Paul Dodge won 32 caps for England between 1978 and 1985. He captained England eight times. He also toured with the ‘Lions’ to South Africa in 1980, as did Dai Richards. Dodge played his club rugby for Syston RFC, advancing to the Leicester club, making an incredible 436 appearances for the ‘Tigers’ between 1975 and 1991.
