Abstract

Ireland jersey worn by George V Stephenson. Wales v Ireland at Cardiff Arms Park on 8th March 1924. Presented to Swansea RFC by Rowe Harding of Swansea and Wales, who was Stephenson's opposite number in the match. It was Ireland's first win in Wales for 25 years (13 - 10). Stevenson captained Ireland (playing at centre) in 1925 when they won in France for the first time since 1914, and again in 1929 when they beat England at Twickenham for the first time.
